So much to do, so little time!

I have a lot to organise, but this will not be a problem as I love planning. In fact, planning should be my middle name and this holiday will be planned with military precision :-)

I am a member of a couple of Disney Forums and I have joined various threads dedicated to this cruise. This is great as they have all kinds of stuff planned! A ladies lunch for one of the sea days, lanyards for us to wear, Fish Extender gift goups etc etc etc. I don't think we are going to run out of things to do!

I have ordered the fabric for my fish extender and have started to collect gifts for the members of my group. This is great fun and Lydia is really enjoying the whole excitement that is building. We just need to wait for a damp cold day and I will get the sewing machine out and start making it! Oh my what have I let myself in for :-S

  1. Hiya Mel

This sounds like such a fun trip. I am very envious and look forward to reading upcoming entries. I would agree that the planning is a large part of the fun..... but I am curious and forgive my ignorance {blush blush} but what is a 'fish extender'??? That is probably a really daft question, but hey....

I hope you and Lydia have loads of fun with the preparation and that the whole trip if exciting and fabulous.

Following your blog gives me a vicarious sense of excitement imagining the fun so I shall check back regularly and look forward to reading all future entries.

  2. Thanks for your comment Linda and welcome as my first follower :-)

Ah now then a Fish Extender is basically a length of fabric with large pockets on the front which is hung from a metal fish which are outside the rooms on Disney Cruise ships. The metal fish are for notices etc from the cruise staff but the fish extenders are now very popular and fellow guests leave gifts, sweets etc for you in the pockets throughout the cruise. I still have my fish extender to make and i'll post pics when i'm done.

I haven't mentioned the magnets either yet! I'll save those for another post :-)

Lydia is about to burst with excitement and asks nearly every weekend if it's too early to pack!

    Drop by again :-)

  3. Hi Mel

Well the fish extenders sound like a lovely idea. And I do love pressies. Bet Lydia will love this!!
I'd love to see a photo of the finished product once made.

I'm not surprised Lydia is excited, I'd have my bag packed and that is not joke!! [I may be 44 but I haven't learnt to contain my excitement.]
I reckon by the time you both leave on your trip your excitement will be off the scale (fish joke intended!) I hope Lydia enjoys making the fish extender but in all her excitement I hope she doesn't burst;-)

  4. Hi Linda

yes we are very excited about this part of the trip preparation and we have bags full of gifts already! Good job we're not flying anywhere in the first part of the trip or we would be well over our weight limit!

I will definitely share our Fish Extender photos when it is complete :-) We are just waiting for a damp boring weekend to make it so I'm sure we won't have to wait too long!

I think Lydia is ready to burst, she keeps making lists which is always a sign of her building excitement lol

Thanks for dropping by, Mel x
